Short story

During times of boredom I like to read short shories. Really short. Six words short to be precise. The concept, inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s famous challenge, is really interesting.

If you have a nice active imagination these stories can be very captivating, and can lead your mind to begin stitching a fuller story together based just on these six words.

His lover now dead, Edward jumped

  2. That’s awesome, nicely written too. My Edward and his situation was probably a bit less literary, a bit more film-noir: Following a car chase through a dark, rainy city, his loved one bound and gagged in the fleeing car, Edward ends up accidentally killing her in an attempt to rescue her. The final scene would probably take place on a suspension bridge, off which he jumps after she dies.

I think it’s great how different people interpret the story. Loving your work.

  3. Thanks!  I can definitely see your story as well though, film noir suits the 6-word story amazingly.  Poor lover dies a horrible death at both our hands.

It’s particularly interesting to realize, when you read other versions, why you opted for this or that detail or scenario.

    Congrats on this fascinating journal!
