In the absense of any cycling over the last few months, I have put my leftover non-human love into these chilli plants of mine. Grown from seeds gifted to me last year by my friend Jon, these plants are currently my pride and joy. I’ve never grown any plants of significance before (from scratch) and the feeling of reward is awesome. So far I’ve got nine peppers on eight plants, the largest being about 7cm now. I’m excited about getting them into a sandwich.

Isn’t this the first sign on old age? I hope your new home has room for a greenhouse ;)

@Jack - not sure about old age, but maybe hippyism, which is far worse. We’ll have room for a veg patch certainly, it’s going to be shithot!
@Sam - I feel the same, but I’m managing to be patient. If you eat them too early I don’t think they have the full flavour.
Thanks for your comments chaps.

My friend Garath grew some chillies, and soon after they sprouted decided to pop them in a curry - he was disappointed at their failure to spice. So, after another few weeks of growing, he was surprised that when eating one whole his whole face slid off into a melted puddle on the floor.

Nice plants! I’ve been a lover of chillies for an age now, and decided to start growing some plants a few months ago.
I was chuffed to bits when I saw the first green shoots, and transplanted the little seedlings to bigger pots with the greatest care. I’ve got just the one chilli on one of my four plants, but I’m hoping fo many more!

I actually started mine pretty late, around early July I think, but I think the heating in the office is keeping them nice and healthy during these colder Autumnal days.
I also bought a water sprayer to water them with, which they’ve reacted to better than a standard water-the-soil every day.

I got given this pepper plant by a client who was growing them in his studio. I thought it was going to be a bell pepper but it’s looking at lot more like a little chilli like yours. It’s magic when they change colour!

It’s almost two months since my previous comment, and I still have four plants.
Unfortunately, I still only have one chilli! It has turned red now, however, but it’s a little smaller than I imagined.
I am getting quite a few flowers, but they fall off (green attachment too), so no progress with actual fruit… is this happening to anybody else. What’s the solution?

My plants have stopped growing, and in the cold they’re not looking as healthy as they did a few months ago, but there’s a fair amount of fruit.
A mate of mine (who grows chillies) told me that if you can keep them alive over the winter they’ll have shitloads of fruit next year.
